Peace Be Still...Here: Moving To DC - Prayer Requests

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. I thank God for his steadfast grace in the journey of life and ministry. What is my only comfort in life and death? That I am not my own, but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death, to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ. Amen

I am now in the process of moving to DC the first week of October. I am staying at a inexpensive Air BnB this week. The last two weeks have been a co-mingling of attempting to find a place which I could possibly host a small group but also be close enough to the men in DC that I've already been working with. And as many of you know, staying close to DC is expensive. But I believe that I will be able to find a place that strikes a balance of both closeness and affordability. For that, I am thankful.

PEACE, BE STILL

This year, I had planned to travel from place to place working with people on house church. I had set apart 12 months to do this. But after working with 2 men in the DC area that did yield a sustainable family for Jesus, it seemed like earlier this year, I began to sense that the peace and stability of being in one location could foster a more viable means to be part of a healthy house church for Black men and families. It is with that because of this sense and the support of others, that I'll be able to do this work here. I'm also seeking part-time work that will help me also be able to become more of a staple in a community that I hope to reach.

CHURCH 101 FOR BLACK MEN/FAMILIES

I've enjoyed connecting with James and Ros, Leona and her husband from the conference. We have spoken about doing a Church 101 for Black brothers and sisters to listen to the voice of Jesus for our local and national communities. If anyone knows someone that might be interested in taking part of the Church 101, please feel free to forward this email or share my email with them. Jomo.K.Johnson@gmail.com

PRAYER NEEDS

Please be in prayer that God would provide faithful Black Christian men to take part in this work and be willing to listen to the voice of Jesus in opening up their homes. Jorge and I did speak with a young man about taking a Church 101 for the sake of being able to host. Please pray with us that the Lord will lead men to us and lead us to men.

PRACTICAL NEEDS

As I get settled here, I am asking that if anyone is able to contribute to the following items for my move next week, please consider the following items. If you're local, you can contact me to donate, or if you want to send a card or cash, you can do so below. Thank you in advance.

1. Small Twin Bed

2. Microwave

DONATE HERE:

Thank you all for your prayers and support as I move into this next chapter of doing ministry here. I am thankful for the gift of perseverance that Lord has shown to me and others whom I have worked with. I am expecting good things to happen the remainder of this year.

To God Be The Glory.
